This is my absolute favorite recipe of all time. It’s something my grandma would make for her kids, and my mom made for me, and now it’s something my kids request at least once a week. Putting this recipe together was actually a pain though as nobody has ever felt the need to measure anything in it before and it was always just passed from person to person by word of mouth.
It is absolutely delicious, very filling, and quite easy to throw together with ingredients that most people already have in the house. The only down side is that it’s almost more of a desert than a breakfast (although is that REALLY such a bad thing?), and is probably not super nutritious, but it’s great for special occasions at least. I hope it’s a big hit because as I said, it is my favorite recipe of all time, and as usual, my kids approve!
Ingredients:
- Bread (2 slices per french toast)
- Peanut butter to taste
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- a pinch of Cinnamon
- 1 Egg
- Butter to taste
- Sugar to taste
Instructions:
- In shallow bowl mix together milk, vanilla, egg, and cinnamon
- With bread and peanut butter make peanut butter sandwiches (I like a LOT of peanut butter on mine)
- Dip both sides of sandwiches in egg mixture (careful not to let sit too long or they could get soggy)
- Cook french toast in a preheated pan (spray with nonstick spray so it does not stick) for approximately 2-3 minutes per side
- Serve with butter and sugar to sprinkle on top
